Good App Introduction

Good Health and Wellbeing

This aims to improve your health and wellbeing, by helping you to achieve more positive actions, and experiences, every day. This app allows you to log your good and bad actions, daily. You should aim to increase the number of positive actions, and reduce the number of negative actions.

Points

» Positive Attitude : "I think I will, therefore I will" is an example of a positive attitude. This, and other positive affirmations, primes your subconscious to be confident and focused. In addition, knowing that you have the relevant knowledge and skills will strengthen this attitude. This can help you to stay focused and determined; and to achieve success, eventually.

» Smiling gives you a double benefit! Your brain thinks you are happy. Smiling also makes people around you feel better, and facilitates a happy environment 😊

» Sense Of Achievement is a real feel good factor! You will get this when you overcome a challenge, be it large or small. So set yourself some aims / goals / objectives that include a challenge.

» Being Creative: when you create something you will get a sense of achievement.

» Humour: natural medicine that can really make you feel better, and heal faster. So make time for laughter 😄

» Love: probably the greatest feel good factor 🧡

» Friendship: similar to love. We are wired to be with people 👬

» Physical Pleasure includes nice things that stimulate our senses. (Including food, drink, touch, exercise, etc! We also need good health.)

» Exercise is probably the best thing you can do for good health; and you will be rewarded with feel good hormones ⛹ 🚴

» Good Diet: see good health.

» Good Health is a fundamental requirement of wellbeing.

» In Sunshine: you have probably noticed that you feel good when there is sunshine. It creates vitamin D; but do not over do it.

» In Nature: you really can feel better when you are in nature (e.g. trees, flowers) 🌳 🌻

» Relax / Meditate: Make time every day to stop what you are doing and just relax. You might want to meditate too. And sleep well at night.

» Uplifting Music can have a positive effect on the brain 🎶

» Adventure / Excitement / Variety: you know the feeling when you are looking forward to something great (e.g. going on holiday). Include something to look forward to every week; and do different things because "variety is the spice of life" ⛱

» Helping Others: You get a feel good factor when you help someone else. It also gives you a sense of purpose. Even feeding an animal feels good 🤝

The app also lists bad actions. The message is simple: avoid them! Of course, no one is perfect; so if you cannot avoid them then make an effort to reduce them. The overall aim is to just make progress: more good actions and fewer bad actions. If you can do this then week by week you might notice an improvement in your health and wellbeing. That is worth a smile 😊

The App

The prototype app allows you to quickly enter your actions, along with optional details. It saves your data to your device (the local storage space in your web browser).

Viewing Your Results

The Saved Data page lists your daily records, along with average values.

There is an option to show these records graphically, which makes it easy for you to quickly spot trends. Clicking on an item of interest in the graphical view shows the details of the underlying record. You should aim to increase the number of ticks (positive) and reduce the number of crosses (negative) in your results.
